Mkoka Village and Mazengo-Handali Village, Tanzania.

With access to safe and clean water, the communities are thriving and the women and children, predominantly responsible for collecting water, are safer, healthier and have regained precious time which they can now use for studying and/or caring for their families.

Throughout their visit, our field officers noted significant and transformative impacts across these communities and I wanted to highlight these two special community members who wished to share how your support has impacted their lives.

Ally Mayai, a 41 year old father of 5 children from Mkoka village, Tanzania shares:

"Since the water project was implemented in our village, I no longer live in a mud house. Previously, I couldn't afford to travel to fetch water for brick-making, especially during the rainy season. With the water project, we now have sufficient water near our home. I've started making bricks, and working on constructing a durable home. With access to clean water we also have healthier communities and an improved livelihood. Our lives have truly been transformed for the better!"

Haidary Shindano, a 51 year old mother of 9 children from  Mazengo-Handali, Tanzania shares:

"My husband passed away which forced me to find alternative ways to make an income in order to support my family. Thanks to this project, I joined an agriculture group which focused on cultivating and selling vegetables in the local market. I now have a 20x15m home garden where I focus on growing tomatoes.Through this garden, I have been able to support my children through school and also buy essential supplies for my household. Thank you so much for all that you have done for us."

These two testimonies offer a glimpse into the profound impact your support and generosity have had on these communities, and on their behalf, I wish to thank you for your kindness!

I have included below some photos from this project which I hope will bring you immense pride and joy and we look forward to sharing further updates with you again soon!

Warm regards, Matilda and the Tanzania Team
