Walk 4 Water: Turning Steps Into Clean Water

CCC's adopted village, Kwa Madebe Village in Tanzania. Help us bring clean, life-sustaining water to this village of more than 3,000 residents.

When several football players at Clearwater Central Catholic High School were asked to carry a bucket of water across the field, they thought it would be easy.

After all, these were athletes used to intense training, weightlifting, and conditioning. But after only a short distance, reality set in.The bucket was heavy. Water sloshed over the sides. Arms grew tired quickly. What seemed simple became exhausting in just a matter of minutes.

And then came the realization:For the women of Tanzania, this is not a short challenge across a football field. It is a daily journey of miles, walking for hours, waiting in line, and hauling up a bucket of water to provide for themselves and their families. This moment of perspective is one of the most powerful parts of the Walk 4 Water, hosted by the Water 4 Mercy Service Chapter at Clearwater Central Catholic.

We are inviting students, families, and the local community to participate in the 4th Annual Walk 4 Water, a walk-a-thon supporting Water 4 Mercy.

This event raises awareness and funds to bring sustainable, solar-powered clean water systems to remote villages in sub-Saharan Africa.

Walking together as a community helps bring attention to the reality faced by millions of people in sub-Saharan Africa who lack access to clean water.Every day, families must walk miles carrying heavy containers just to collect water that is often unsafe to drink.

The Walk 4 Water event symbolizes that journey while raising funds to support long-term solutions.

Participants help:

  • Bring awareness to the plight of millions who lack access to clean water

  • Raise funds for sustainable clean water systems in remote African villages

  • Support innovative technologies that provide long-term water solutions
