Water 4 Mercy Walk 4 Water Event

October 2024: Planning & Awareness

1. Form a Team: Create a group of students, faculty, and volunteers to organize the event.

2. Spread the Word: Share Water 4 Mercy’s mission through social media, presentations, and signs around campus. Strategically set up signs at many of the water fountains throughout campus with photos illustrating African village conditions stating: “Would you drink this water”?

3. Engage Student Organizations: Connect with clubs and groups to help promote and participate in the event.

4. ‘Set the Date’ which is the most optimal in the school’s calendar.



November 2024: Sponsorship Outreach 1. Find Sponsors: Work with the university to reach out to businesses for sponsorship.


2. Create Sponsorship Packages: Offer benefits like logo placement or booths for sponsors.


3. Boost Social Media: Post facts about the global water crisis and promote involvement.



December 2024: Promotion & Recruitment

1. Recruit Volunteers: Get students to help with event tasks like setup and registration.


2. Fundraise: Organize small fundraisers and promote donations and holiday gift options supporting Water 4 Mercy.


3. Plan Event Logistics: Secure the route, permits, and necessary equipment for the event.



January 2025: Back-to-School Push

1. New Promotion: Start the year with a fresh awareness campaign and promote the event at school fairs.


2. Confirm Sponsors: Finalize sponsorship commitments.


3. Involve More Students: Offer incentives like volunteer hours or course credit for participation.



February 2025: Fundraising & Registration

1. Open Registration: Launch event sign-ups with early-bird perks.


2. Fundraising Challenges: Encourage students or teams to compete in raising funds.


3. Share Water 4 Mercy Stories: Inspire participants by sharing real stories from Water 4 Mercy projects.



March 2025: Final Preparations

2. Sponsor Visibility: Ensure sponsor recognition at the event with booths and banners.

3. Host the Walk 4 Water: Run the event smoothly, capture the moment with photos, and thank everyone afterward.
